Chapter 4: Defence
Defense is the demarcation of life’s boundaries, a silent declaration of inner order against chaos. When the cockatoo spreads its tail feathers and raises its crest, each erect plume constructs the sharp angles of the spirit. The craftsmanship deconstructs the tension of protection: rhinestone-embellished mesh forms a diamond grid on the couture body, symbolizing the defensive formation of the cockatoo, with the icy glint of the rhinestones refracting an impenetrable border; three-dimensional boned lace extends from the chest to head, its architectural structure outlining a “fortress of the mind”, with translucent embroidery inside, resembling the delicate textures hidden beneath feathers.
